รำขันหมากเบ็ง

"หมากเบ็ง"  เป็นเครื่องบูชาชนิดหนึ่งของภาคอีสาน  คำว่า  "เบ็ง"  มาจาก  "เบญจ"  หมายถึงการบูชาพระเจ้า 5  พระองค์  คือ  กกุสันโท  โกนาคมโน  กัสสโป  โคตโม  และอริยเมตตรัยโย  ในสมัยพุทธกาลนั้น  พระเจ้าปเสนทิโกศลได้นำขันหมากเบ็งถวายพระพุทธเจ้า  ในปัจจุบันนี้ชาวอีสานโดยเฉพาะเผ่ากะเลิงใช้บูชาสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ตามความเชื่อ  ด้วยเหตุนี้จึงได้นำมาประดิษฐ์เป็นท่าฟ้อนรำเพื่อบูชาพระพุทธ  พระธรรม  พระสงฆ์  ในการแสดงการฟ้อนรำขันหมากเบ็งแสดงถึงพญาทั้งห้าแห่งอาณาจักรศรีโคตรบูรได้นำขันหมากเบ็งมาถวายองค์พระธาตุพนม

Khun  Mak  Beng  Dance

Mak  Beng  is  an  elaborated  local  natural  objects,  such  as  flower,  banana's  leave  and  other  plant  productivity.  In  the  ancient  time,  It  used  to  pay  respect  to  the  Five  Great  Buddhas;  There  are  Kakusandho,  Khonakamano, Kassapo,  Khodhamo  and  Ariyametraiyo.  The  king  Pasendhikosala  in  ancient  India  used  to  pay  respect  to  the  Buddha  in  the  buddist  era.

Now  a  day  the  Khun  Mak  Beng  is  made  for  pay  respect  to  the  Tripple  Gemes;  There  are  the  Buddha,  Drama  and  Sangha (Monks)  which  lead  by  the  Esarn  sub-group  called  "Ka Rerng"  The  dancing  show  the  Five  Kings  of  the  Ancient  Srikottaboon  Kingdom  pay  respect  to  Phrathatphanom  shrine  with  Khun  Mak  Beng.
